Ever Present
The chorus, Jesus Messiah, says, “Blessed Redeemer, Emmanuel. The Rescue for sinners, the Ransom from heaven.”
Matthew 1:23 - “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel”[a] (which means “God with us”).
Giving our babies their names is quite a challenge these days, depending on the motivation. For some, the more unique the name or its spelling the better. Others want traditional names or names with special meanings. Perhaps the names are associated with family heritage or even parental aspirations.
Emmanuel, a name given centuries ago to Jesus at the angel’s instruction to Joseph, still means the same to me and you today: GOD IS WITH US. Think about this…nothing changes the promise of his name – beside us, and watches over us as we sleep. He is present at every birth, wedding, death, and celebration.
Knowing that God is with us changes everything. So, take time to enjoy the daily blessings you receive. Remember, if you seek Him…you will find Him! He’s ever-present!
