The Glory of God
In Isaiah 6, verse 1, Isaiah is surrounded by seraphim praising God, and He sees the Lord HIGH & LIFTED UP!
I would love to have this experience and like Isaiah, I’m certain that I’d be overwhelmed. Like the prophet, I’m sure that seeing God in all his glory and seeing myself as I am would definitely be terrifying.
I believe we need to focus our “ask” on seeing ourselves the way we actually are – human. Then, we can celebrate the fact that God has taken away our guilt and we can come before Him unashamed. Knowing that we’ve been cleansed allows us to truly take our eyes off of self and lift him to the level of rightful authority and glory He’s deserving of.
Reminds me of the song, “To see You high and lifted up, shining in the light of Your glory.” (Open The Eyes of My Heart, Lord!)
