Bless God
1 Timothy 6:15-16 New International Version (NIV) 15 which God will bring about in his own time—God, the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords, 16 who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see. To him be honor and might forever. Amen.
Every time I turn on the TV or read the news I am overwhelmed by the barrage of discouragement. As some would say, “fake news” is the order of the day for some agencies. Who do you believe anymore? Is anyone telling the truth? Well, young Timothy heard the truth from his mentor…God is the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords”. This reminds me of my dad’s response when we’d question the uncertainty of our situation or concerns of the day…he’d ask us, “so when did God abandon the throne?”
In the late ’70s or early ’80s, Carmen introduced a powerful chorus which said, “Bless God for all He’s done, bless God for Christ the Son, let us magnify Him for He’s holy, holy.” The next phrase said, “One voice in unity, one voice of praise to Thee, with hearts of love and mercy we will sing, BLESS GOD.” It’s time that we, the people of God, BLESS GOD! We are always asking for His blessings, but as believers, we should always keep in mind that God is, and always has been, in control regardless of what is happening in our crazy messed-up world. There is no need to worry. He is the RULER OF ALL NATIONS, including ours. Our prayer should be…I thank You today, God, for our freedom and Your protection. Have mercy on our nation.
