Willingness

2 Corinthians 2:4 says, “My speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power.”  

There’s nothing in my ability to deliver a sermon or give a speech that can genuinely bring change in the hearer.  It must be that the Gospel is proclaimed with knowledge and total reliance on the Holy Spirit to transform. Faith cannot be in the “experience (sermon or presentation)” rather it has to be in the reality of Christ’s redemption. 

If we, as pastors, ever get to the place that we have achieved any level of success, we’ve taken a burden of responsibility for that success that was never meant to be ours. ALL GLORY BELONGS TO THE LORD! We only bring to the Lord our willingness to be used of Him then pray that He allows us to become His hands and His feet.
