Promises

Hebrews 10:23 (NIV)

23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.

In the song, THANK YOU, LORD, it says, “For all that You’ve promised and all that You are, all that has carried me through.” When you think of the word, “promise,” you might also think of oath, guarantee, pledge, and/or vow.  These are considered binding terms and are often used in legal documents, partnerships, and long-term commitments. 

Both in the Old Testament & New Testament Scriptures we find God’s promises, which encourage faith in the believer’s life.  I am personally interested in the personalized promises God has for me.  Well, it comes through study and obedience to the Word.  For example, His Word speaks of assurance, when we face trials and hardships; there is not a minute when He is not with you, there’s the confidence that He knows and He cares. 

He will never leave or forsake us.  Our concerns are His.  God alone is able to see us through every problem.  He has and forever will carry us through!
