My, How Time Flies
Psalm 46:10 (NIV)
10 He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”
I remember when I was a kid, I thought I’d never grow up. If I could just finally reach the ripe age of eighteen, everything would fall into place, so I thought. Now, as an adult with mortgage payments, children and grandchildren, career demands, aging family member challenges, I find myself wondering where has time gone.
Instead of wishing your life away, savor the moments of today. Take time to appreciate what God has done and is still doing. Whether the challenges you’re facing today are financial, rebellious children or difficult colleagues, everything is designed to demonstrate God’s love and mercy.
Time moves so quickly, but God has given us the gift of eternal life TODAY! And, to add to it – ETERNITY IS STILL PROMISED! So, be still, and trust that God is in control of every detail that controls our life.
Take a moment to reflect on the lyrics of a powerful song recorded by Cici Winans, entitled, TOMORROW…
Jesus said
'Here I stand, won't you please let me in?'
And you said
"I will tomorrow"
Jesus said
'I am he who supplies all your needs'
And you said
"I know, but tomorrow",
ooh, "tomorrow, ill give my life
tomorrow, I thought about today, but it's so much easier to say"
Tomorrow?, who promised you tomorrow?,
better choose the lord today, for
tomorrow very well might be too late.
Jesus said
'Here I stand, won't you please take my hand?'
And you said
"I will tomorrow"
Jesus said
'I am he who supplies all your needs'
And you said
"I know, but tomorrow",
ooh, "tomorrow, ill give my life
tomorrow, I thought about today oooohh,
but it's so much easier to say..."
Tomorrow?, who promised you tomorrow?,
better choose the lord today, for
tomorrow very well might be too late
