Protection From Life’s Storms
A few years ago my family planned a Thanksgiving Cruise. We had both of our girls and their families for four uninterrupted days of fun!
The grandkids were thrilled when they discovered the unlimited soft-serve ice cream available whenever they desired. The evening we set sail, the weather was less than desirable and the boat was a bit rocky. Having boarded a bit on the queasy side, I didn’t enjoy that first evening at all. Realizing that my whole family was onboard didn’t set well with me either, just in case this boat was going down.
The next day, still rocking a bit, I noticed the staff on board the luxury liner and met the captain of the vessel. He seemed all calm and collective, which gave me a real sense of security. The grandkids seemed unconcerned by any of it and seemed to enjoy their time aboard. It was also apparent that the staff had complete confidence in the captain’s ability to navigate the ship and that we would eventually arrive safely into port – Mexico. From that point on the weather was perfect and the vacation full of special memories.
With God as the captain of our lives, is there anything that he can’t handle? He is our stronghold – our rick, fortress, and deliverer. We can trust Him, no matter what storms arise.
I thank Him that He, who controls both heaven and earth is looking out for me!
