We used to sing a song that said, “rescue the perishing, duty demands it – strength for your labor the Lord will provide.”
I often think of the sacrifice of our public servants, especially firefighters and police officers with their awesome sense of responsibility and duty. The sacrifice to their duty is apparent with every call they receive. The same should be of those of us whose eternal life is secure in Jesus.
People are perishing all around us, whether physically, emotionally and most importantly spiritually. We were created to be God’s hands, feet and mouth while we have breathe/life. I am grateful that He has provided the strength needed to accomplish such an enormous task. His Word declares in Philippians 4:13, “I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO STRENGTHENS ME.” Strength necessary to complete the assignment will be given once we respond in obedience.
So, activate your faith today, and extend hope to those who need rescue.
