Wake Up
In 1977 I was 16 years old and remember learning a song, which would sing on Youth Group trips.
The lyrics were, “Jesus love is bubbling over, bubbling over in my soul.” We’d also add to our repertoire the song, “Jesus is the Rock and He rolls my blues away.” Those were more than just youthful chants, they’ve become reality. At 56 years old, if only I could wake up and roll out of bed each morning with a winning mindset. After all, we are living and breathing with purpose. God watches over us in sleep, protects us from harm because He has a future for us beyond anything we can believe.
We are living testimonies of God’s strength each and every day we breathe air. He doesn’t just provide us a new day, but new mercies accompany. So, whatever circumstances surround you, God’s love is greater. He provides the necessary strength to endure and to win over today’s challenges, because He is with us. The fact that you woke up today is proof.
Lamentations 3:22-23 (NIV)
22 Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed,
for his compassions never fail.
23 They are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
