IMAGINE

“Will I sing, ‘” Hallelujah”‘?  Will I be able to speak at all?”  These are lyrics from the powerful song, I Can Only Imagine, by Mercy Me.  I’ve heard this at a number of funerals and was privileged a few months ago to attend a private screening of the movie entitled, “I Can Only Imagine” which depicted the history behind the cherished song.  It’s powerful and I highly recommend it!

Songs have been sung, books were written and even movies filmed in an attempt to understand the place called HEAVEN!  The Bible gives us John’s account of what heaven looks like in the book of Revelation, but even that is difficult to understand and comprehend.  How can anyone describe a place that defies all human understanding and experience?  When we finally meet Jesus face-to-face, what will that be like?

We can only imagine how we will feel when we are standing before the King of all the Universe and our Savior.  After all, He is the author and the finisher of our faith!  I’m sure some folks will yell, “HALLELUJAH” while others remain speechless in His presence.  I bet some will dance, while others bow at his feet.

If we’ve accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior, one day we will meet Him face-to-face.  We may have a difficult time imagining what it’ll be like, but one day it will become a reality!  And, it will be better than we can ever fathom.
